People sometimes comment the defence officers and soldiers as like stone hearted person. Because they are trained to only follow and give commands. The view point for and officer is obviously different from a normal person. That is why for common people he might be stone hearted. There are three defence services in India, Army, Navy and the Air Force. And in every services there are men as well as women serving as an officer equally.
When I joined the Navy as a Lieutenant she joined the Air Force as a Flying Lieutenant. We both met each other in the RDC 2019. She was the second commander and I was the Lieutenant Commander of my contingent respectively.
We were at practice in Rajpath. Someone shouted "stop stop". Since I was by the side of the commander I heard her voice and looked back. She said "Stop the contingent, a temporary drain ahead". The moment i looked back i saw her with a Walky Talky in her left and showing stop sign by her right hand. Two stripes in her shoulders, a well shaped cap and flying badge on her chest. And I won't forget to mention that, a black sunglass on a white girl's face with a blue uniform suits very perfectly.
We were still marching on road. I don't know what my commander said but everyone took a long step and passed the drain. And me by the commander's side, suddenly my leg got slipped and my boot left leg boot got stuck in the drain. I was kneeling like half fallen person and following me my troop stopped. She came running, before my commander reach. I opened my boots and I was about to stand up, so she reached my sight. At a 45° angle of elevation her eyes were on my face and continued to scold me with every possible respectful way. Her aluminium Name plate above right pocket was shining with a name written in black "Al Rehnuma Yasmin". I expected but she didn't put forward her hand to help me. Captain said "Its ok, stand up Lieutenant" keeping my reputation and also impression before an lady officer.
I thought to continue, but Captain excused me and Madam offered me to drop me at my quarter. I didn't want to miss such a lovely chance, because most of the time we need to walk to our quarter/hostel. She started her Activa scooty. She said she belongs to Assam so I replied with full interest that Nice to meet an Assamese here. We exchanged our words in Assamese. We entered a oil pump to take petrol in the scooty so she asked for 300 rupees petrol. She asked me to stand up and opened the dickey but she didn't found her hand bag in it. She remembered that she kept it on her table. She was so shy to ask me for 300 rupees because still we were strangers. And honestly I never bring my wallet to Parade, but that day I planned to have my lunch outside so I it was in my pocket. She didn't asked me but looking at her eyes in contact, I gave her 300 rupees. She didn't thank me but smiled. She dropped me at my room and didn't even say a single word about that 300 rupees.
I went to my room and freshed up. I came out of my room and waiting for city bus to go for a lunch outside. Partially I was thinking about her, her name, her dress-up and mostly her disciplined nature. Suddenly I saw the same scooty, I mean she was there somewhere. And when I looked at my left, she was in proper Churidar and two bags in her hands. She directly asked me to catch the bags such that we know each other from previous birth. I peeped into the bags and smell of chicken was confirmed.
She was living in a hotel for few days with parents. And with trust as an same community people, she took me to the main town with her and we were about to divide from there. Before I leave, she asked .
"Why you came to town ? "
Then simply I said "I want to lunch outside."
She just laughed.
I don't know what to react so I too laughed. She offered to have lunch together with her family. After we had lunch, I left her place. But while she coming to leave me on bus stop, she said "Your 300 rupees. Please take it." (We talk informally in off duty)
I refused to take it and I returned.
She saved my number and me too. Just 10 mins after I reached my room, she messaged me.
"Hey, reached room safely ?"
I said "No, few terrorists attacked my bus and I am in ICU."
She laughed and directly cut the phone. Everyday same way, after our practice we come together. She drops me and goes.
And then after RDC is over we got one day to spend fully for each other. We went to Taj Mahal, KFC and few more beautiful places. I talked to her parents and we both accompanied them to the airport for flight from New Delhi to LGBI Airport. We sensed love for each other, but there was no time to express it. We packed our luggage and hugged each other for the last time, then she is on her sorties and I am on my ship.
We text everyday but talk very rarely. I was about one month we have last talked. But that day I had 5 missed calls in her number. I was shocked. I directly called back.
First she ended the call. Then again when I called she shouted,
"Why are you calling me Mr. VIP. You are soo much busy so no need to call." And really she cut my call.
And at my third call I was totally silent and I heart her crying,
"Do you know how much I miss you ? I try to forget you and your face but I couldn't. I think I am in love with you Lieutenant Commander Dikshit Kumar Gogoi. Would please accept my pain and responsibility till my last breath?"
