Use of Technology in Agriculture

When people ask, why you choosed Agricultural Department?


I honestly reply that I have a rural background and have knowledge about it. And above all I had no option left. 

"The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings."

Agriculture is the sector which contributes nearly 18% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and about 40% to the total Net Domestic Product (NDP). One of the most important sectors in the world. 

India is a country where Rice and Wheat are the main food. Most people are also engaged in this primary sector. Every year this sector faces loss and every year number of farmers commit suicide. In countries like China,USA and Brazil the makes a huge profit and stands in the top. 

Indian way of agriculture is still traditional and less scientific methods used. There has to be a lot of improvement, education and technical support for upbringing this great sector. Though Indian government makes schemes, due to Middle officers and corruption the actual solution and material never reaches to the bottom floor. We never mind but Agriculture is a huge sector under which starting from farming of animals & paddy to development of tractor and water supply involves. This is why a huge number of population engaged in it. 

FCI grantees and buys tonnes of rice every year from undiscovered corners of the country. Free training for pisciculture, farming and also provides quality of seeds to the poor farmers etc etc. But due to flood, change in climate, hail stone and pest attack farmers faces a great loss. Every year about 9-10 billion rupees of goods goes in loss. 

Agricultural Engineers are the heroes of this fight with the people, nature and technology. Starting from the modernisation of tractors to invention of drones for watering they give their best. New model of tractors, various types of drones and sprinkler etc are manufactured. For easy controlling of pests, animals or security etc engineers developed smart application with a physical sensor on ground through which many things can be controlled named as RAFID or Radio Frequency Identification. Biotechnology, soil monitoring and weather technology are used for better productivity. Even Artificial Intelligence, Satellite Images and water sensors are also used to determine weather conditions, soil quality and water control. As of 2021 Irrigation can also be controlled via a mobile phone.

Peoples like Mason Vaugh gave their best to establish Agricultural field in a wel developed manner. He studied in India and established the department of Agricultural Engineering in India at Allahbad Agricultural Institute. That is why today India stands among the top list and agricultural engineers exists in a high demand. 
Hope in the coming future more and more people comes together to raise a new green revolution to change the industries future into a golden era with new technologies and innovative ideas. 
Honestly
AGRICULTURE 
is a field of 
UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES 
And the future belongs to them who still wants their hands to get dirty.
